Math

Math fluency is a big part of first grade! These are some websites and apps you can use to help your child practice math facts and skills.

i-Ready

i-Ready

i-Ready is the platform we use in school to help evaluate and monitor students' math skills. We aim for 45 minutes of active engagement in the math lessons per week.

Our math curriculum can be accessed here through Embarc Online. The creator of this website took all of the modules we teach and compiled them into one place with the resources much easier to find. It does take some getting used to at first, so please reach out if you need help with this! I promise, it's the single most useful website I use when I'm planning and teaching math.

Prodigy

Prodigy

Prodigy is a fun math game where your character battles creatures and wizards to earn points and prizes. The catch is that you have to correctly answer math questions to move forward. Every student in our class has an account where I can see their math progress, assign topics aligned with what we're learning in math, and put a grade-level cap on the difficulty of their questions. This one is, by far, a favorite in our classroom!
